Tux-by-mail: Mailorder Linux installation

You send us your computer by mail or bring it to us yourself. We will install Linux for you and configure the system the way you want it. Then we will ship the computer back to you or we phone you that you can come pick it up. As with out in-house installation plan, we can install Linux as a stand-alone system or as an additonal option when you turn on your computer. This way you can choose each time if you want Linux or Windows. You will also get a user guide for your new Linux system and one week of free telephone and e-mail support. If you think that is not enough then you can pick one of our extended support options. Our pricing plan:

Installation and one week support, excluding shipping costs$50.00
Three months additional telephone and e-mail support$40.00
Six months additional telephone and e-mail support$70.00

A few things you should know about this service:

  • You are responsible for the shipping and insurance cost. While your computer is in our care we will treat it as a new-born baby but we can't be responsible for the postal services.
  • You can ship your computer through any service you want. However, we recommend that you use Bax Global. Tux-by-mail customers will get a discount from Bax Global when shipping computers to and from HeliOS Solutions. You still have to make the shipping arrangements yourself tough. You can reach Bax Global on 1-800-call-bax.
  • Due to the high travel expenses we cannot offer Tux-by-mail customers the same lifetime guarantee as our home installation plan. Sorry.
